Obituary of Willard Keith Osmer
Today, we remember our loving Father, Husband, and friend, Bill Osmer, who passed on August 6th, 2018 to join the Good Lord and his many friends and family members. Bill was the loving husband of Linda Osmer for thirty-two and a half wonderful years and an amazing father to two sons, Brandon and his wife Kinlee and Clay and his fiancée Taylor Chopko. He is also survived by his sister, Margot Gotcher and her husband Mark, brother Tim and his wife Lissa, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Keith Osmer, and his younger brother Doug.
Bill worked as a locomotive engineer for 40 years with the Union Pacific Railroad and it was truly his passion to be out on the rails. When he wasn't on the train, he loved to dance, yell at UofA sporting events, and spend quality time with the ones he loved most. Bill was a baseball coach for many years, an avid bowler, and loved to travel. He was a man of pure integrity, who took a genuine interest in all those he came in contact with, especially his family.
Bill was known by many names: Willard, WK, Billy, Mr. Bill, Cheese, Mungus Man, and the Candy Man - but the name that he was most proud of, was Dad. Although we are devastated by the loss of our father and husband, we find comfort in the fact that he passed peacefully. We rest easy knowing that the infectious joy and impact he brought to those around him will transcend time and death. Afterall, to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.
We love you Bill.
