I miss you daddy!!! Sometimes I see you in my dreams and it feels so real. I believe you visit me but the visits are always too short. I wish I could laugh with you, I wish I could cry to you and I wish you could hug my problems away. So many crazy things are happening right now and honestly I am glad you aren't here because I would never want you to die alone like so many people are. I am glad you were with Mom and Michelle and I know they helped send you away with all the love you could've ever felt. I am facing so many struggles right now. I know they are inevitable but I never thought I would be doing it without you. You were the best man in my life and I feel lost so often without you. I hope you are loving your life in Heaven and I hope you continue to watch over me and the kids!!! I LOVE YOU daddy!!!!

I am not even sure where to start. deep breaths Diana....
The first time I met Gil and Al, I was barely 18. They owned What's Your Beef, and I was working in the deli at the convenience store next door. It was a big U of A game and they had run out of provolone cheese, and asked if I could slip them a role from the deli and they would give it back to me the following Monday. I did, and that was the beginning of a lifelong relationship with both of them.
I might not have been in touch with Gil as much as I should have lately (other than facebook), but he has been one of the few people in my life that truly made a difference when I needed it. They put me to work and looked out for me like brothers and fathers throughout my young adulthood.
I'll never forget them loaning me the money for tuition one semester and letting me work it off over the following year. They laughed and said that was truly job security when I owed them money. :)
Aw Gil, thank you for all the wonderful times and great memories. I am just positive that you and Al are up there laughing your asses off and having a good time together just like you did here on earth.
My love to you and your family - forever.
Diana

To Gil's Family
My heart is saddened to hear of Gil’s passing. I’m sending prayers, asking for help to find your way through these difficult times.
I remember the first time I met Gil at pulmonary rehab. It was as though we had been friends all of our lives. He had a special gift of making people feel at ease with a smile that took you away from your worries for a moment in time.
Gil was able to do this even though he was on his own journey with health concerns. Even now in these sad times, when I think of Gil, a smile comes to my face. He was a rare bird and will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
