Condolences to the family of Father Bob.
We were married at St. Francis in 1975. So
many wonderful memories. Our children were close to Father Bob. From 1st Communion through Confirmation and weddings. I loved his stories . We learned so much in his 36 years here. Rest in Peace to a wonderful Priest, Teacher, friend. You will always be remembered.

We have been parishioners at St. Francis throughout Fr. Tamminga’s 36 year tenure as Pastor. Our four children all participated in the youth group during their high school years and “Minga’ as many of them came to call him was such a wonderful friend and role model for all the hundreds of kids that went through that program over those many years. I was always in awe of Father’s ability to somehow remember the faces and names of so many youth group ‘alumni’ years after they’d grown up and started families of their own. In these turbulent times we live in, Fr. Tamminga was one of those rare ‘rocks’ who was able calm the waters with a steady hand, sense of humor, and unflinching moral character. Rest in peace, Father, you’ve earned your place in heaven.

Our first encounter with Dr Tamminga was at St Ambrose church. He was a very young priest at that time and we loved his energy and sermons. He also baptized our second child there. We were thrilled when he was named pastor of St Francis de Sales in 1984. He loved his church and parishioners and will be greatly missed. Thank you for your dedications. Rest in peace.

Fr. Bob was a great friend of my family from his days at St.Rose of Lima in Safford, AZ. Fr. Bob officiated my brother, two sisters, and my marriage in South Dakota, Iowa, and Virginia. He presided over my fathers funeral and was always a part of our family reunions, because he truly was part of our family. We will miss him but will always be grateful for the impact he had on our lives.

Father Tamminga has been an important part of my life since I was a teenager. It started with RE classes, retreats and youth group. He married my husband and I, said the funeral mass for our daughter, celebrated all the Baptisms, First Holy Communion and most of the Confirmation masses for our children (still have 2 left to be confirmed), and have had the honor of working for him these past couple of years. I will miss seeing him and Charlie, and he making sure my office door is shut (it wasn't me who left it open Father). My family will miss his "Polar Express" Christmas Eve Masses. Those of us he left behind are saddened by his loss but I take comfort knowing he is happy in heaven and I will see him again one day. Happy Father's Day Father Tamminga!

Fr. Tamminga had such wisdom. He shaped who I am as a person today with his counsel during my formative years and beyond. So many memories of him throughout my life. You will be very missed but will live on in the words you shared with so many.

Father Tamminga was a friend to me. My family has been going to Saint Francis for years, and when I think of the Parish I think of him. Never a man more dedicated and passionate yet light hearted and friendly. As an alter server I was able to interact with him every Sunday, and I think over the years we established a good relationship. I knew I could trust him and talk to him, or laugh with him if there was anything too pressing on my mind. I think fondly of the conversations we've had, the confessions I've spoken to him, the wisdom he's given, and the love he's shared so fondly with the church community. The church won't feel the same without him, but I know in my heart that there is no reason to be sad, for he has given so much to he world and now he is at God's side. Rest easy, Father, thank you so much for everything you've done for God's people.

He was a great man and priest. His Parish will miss him, but his legacy will continue through the traditions he began, the people he brought together and the youth group that he loved. Thank you Father Tamminga!

Loss of anything valuable is just tough to handle. Loss of something invaluable is mind-blowing. The synonym of invaluable is irreplaceable. Need there be more said about Fr. Bob? Let him be remembered by doing what he always did.....He smiled because nothing was too serious. He cared because everyone was important. He was fun to be around because He enjoyed
the life God gave him. He loved that God and the priesthood God gave him. He will be missed but not replaced.
Rest In Peace my friend

I had the privilege of knowing Ft. T for many years. He was not only my pastor but a family friend. I have many fond memories of high school youth group. When I got married there was no one else I wanted to perform the ceremony. He baptized all 3 of my children. Now that my children are in youth group they had the privilege to get to know him too. When I think of St Francis de Sales I think of him. He will be missed but I know he's at peace.

I met Bob when I was in eighth grade at immaculate conception church in Douglas Arizona. That is when my life changed for the better. Bob, as he want to be called was immediately adopted by our family, and vice versa,. Bob would come to our house about 4 to 5 times a week For dinner and stay for a couple hours after. I just enjoyed being with the family we were five kids plus my parents and my father immediately called him number eight. I am 62 years old now and Bob has been a huge part of my life. He was like a brother to me. He was the a pitta me of Jesus Christ here on earth. I will miss you tremendously but may you rest in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family of Father Tamminga. We met Father Tamminga around 30 years ago. Generation after generation he was the pilar of St. Francis. Our nephew joined the youth group at St. Francis de Sales and he is now 33 years old. Our kids joined the youth group when they started high school in 2016 and they graduated last year. During their years there they got closer to Father Tamminga. He used to always joke with them and he would always tried to tell our kids apart and most of the time he did it right! He was very funny and very social. He loved to travel with the kids. Every time we had a dinner he will always come around to talk to the parishioners. Father Tamminga will be dearly missed. Rest In Peace.

Minga!! I will never forget all the years spent at St Francis and most of all my teen years in Youth Group at ‘Frank’s D’s’. How dearly we all loved you and what an awesome presence to have in our lives during those years. You, Marian, Fr. Cloud and of course my CCD teachers and neighbors the Kingery’s will always be such treasured and special people to me, even though I don’t attend mass anymore. Rest In Peace.

There are no words that could adequately express what Bob (Fr T) means to me. He is everything to me and my family. There wasn't a birthday, graduation, soccer game, holiday that he missed. (Unless he was off traveling the world somewhere). He made us all feel so very loved. His funny sayings are a part of our everyday vocabulary and his expression are mimicked daily. I will hold you close to my heart forever. May you Rest In Peace ❤️

My deepest condolences to the family and close friends of Fr. Tamminga, or 'Minga' as many of us called him. He had such a positive influence on all of us, and being with Fr. Tamminga and Marian during the many years of CCD and youth group was such a blessing. He was wise, fun, had a great sense of humor, and always made you feel welcome. When you needed advice, Fr. Tamminga was right there and knew just what to say. He is already dearly missed.

A light has gone out, and Fr. T., you are greatly missed already! I know that the Parish family of St. Francis de Sales will be very sad, and missing the person they have know as Pastor since 1984. We worked together from 1985 until I retired in 2004, and it was an honor to be there working with you, and Fr. Bryerton in the beginning. May God be with your family and friends, and may you rest in peace. "Well done, good and faithful servant",
