Obituary of Evangeline N. Robles
Evangeline N. Robles (Eva) 95, the matriarch of our family has reunited with her husband Gene G. Robles on December 28, 2020. She was born on August 27, 1925. A third generation Arizonan. The first of three children (Hector and Ophelia) born to Evangelina and Julian Nunez. She was a 1943 Tucson High School Alum, and a proud drum majorette of the famous Marching 100. Eva and Gene married May 13, 1946. They had five children, Patricia Mada, Judy (David) Molinar, Susan (Albert) Ayala, Eugene Robles and James Robles. After she raised her children, she began her career at the University of Arizona Office of Admissions, and retired after 25 years of service as the Undergraduate Admissions Supervisor, a career she took a lot of pride in. Eva was adored by her staff and student interns. She took in all the student’s positive energy & it radiated from within. Eva enjoyed walking laps with her co-workers around MaKale center on her lunch breaks. She was proud to be a Wildcat. Eva and her husband Gene were frequent attendees of the UofA football and basketball games since 1942 and enjoyed tailgating. Eva, the loving grandmother who had a hand in raising 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She took pride in instilling valuable lessons that will last a lifetime. She enjoyed going on vacation every year with her family, reading, crossword puzzles, picnicking and going on nature walks with her grandchildren. Anyone who crossed paths with her knew she was a firecracker of a woman. She was bold and confident, strong and independent but also gentle and very loving. Walked every step she took with pride. She loved to see new things and meet new people, she was the ultimate social butterfly and she will be missed dearly.
