Beatrice Suitt

Obituary of Beatrice Suitt

Sister Beatrice Suitt was born June 18th, 1943, in Bessemer Alabama to the late R.L. and Wilma Rollins.

She departed this life on November 22nd, 2021.  She attended the Bessemer City School System, graduating from Paul William Dunbar High School class of 1960.

A stellar student, decorated athlete, world traveler, civil rights activist, daughter, military wife, mother, sister, a long time devoted employee of Tucson Osteopathic Institute and friend to so many.

As a very young black woman of the deep south in the 50’s she was witness to man’s inhumanity to man.  It was during these troubled times and at an early age she confessed to Christ, a relationship she steadfastly maintained throughout her life. During her world travels she served in numerous churches in various positions and led her family on tours to historic religious sites throughout the world. In later years her walk with the Lord was at the Living Waters Ministries Church here in Tucson where she served until her death.

Beatrice Rollins and Sylvester “Jim “Suitt were joined in Holy Matrimony on September 19th, 1962.  God blessed this union with two children.  Preceding her in death are her brothers David (Ardelia) Rollins, Edward (Phyllis) Rollins and Jeffery (Veronica) Rollins, sisters Nanella (Toby) Walker, Paula Rollins and Renee (Vincent) Powell.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Jim, son James (Leeza) Suitt and daughter Karen Suitt. A brother Robert (Bernice) Rollins and a sister Sharon (James) Watson. Her five grandchildren Todd Prowell, Bambi (Robert) Anaya, Travis (Melissa) Wilson, Leslie Brothers and Tyrone Perkins Junior {Tyrone Perkins Sr.).  Her seven great grandchildren Sabrina, Christian, Cassidy, Giovanni, Keagan and Cooper.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation to your local Alzheimer’s Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
