Obituary
Obituary of Dale Ernest Whitney
On the morning of February 10, 2018, Dale Ernest Whitney, 69, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer having made the most of his years here on earth.
Born June 10, 1948 in Payson, Utah to Lloyd Clinton Whitney and Frieda Underwood Whitney, he was the second of three children. He married Carla Corbridge on December 19, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah and they have two children.
Dale was a distinguished social worker in the United States Air Force for 22 years. Having earned his bachelors and master's degrees from the University of Utah, he later went on to earn his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon retiring from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel after two plus decades of honorable service, Dale continued to share his talents and serve his community over the next 20 years with a thriving private practice.
He enjoyed living and loving life to the fullest. Dale loved to be in nature whether he was riding ATV's at the sand dunes, camping, traveling, hiking or especially driving his Corvette. But most of all, he loved his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, and devoted grandpa. His example will influence generations to come. He will be sorely missed.
Dale is survived by his wife Carla Whitney, sons Jesse (Tiffany) Whitney, Greg (Mattie) Whitney and grandchildren Gregory, Ryan, Dylan and Sophia Whitney, Mother Frieda (Nolen) Gines, Brothers Gary (Susan) Whitney and Ray (Toni) Whitney. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Clinton Whitney.
