Obituary of Jose L. Rivas

Jose L. Rivas, age 88, passed away March 25, 2012 after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Anh Dao Rivas, of Tucson, and his sister, Alicia Faye, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jose is the father of Maria Yudico (Ric), Josephine Perez (Martin), and Richard Rivas. He has 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Jose served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He received the Purple Heart after being injured at the Battle of Attu, Aleutian Islands. He worked as an electronic technician for the FAA at Davis Monthan Air Base for 32 years. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Bring’s Memorial Chapel, 236 S. Scott Avenue. Funeral Mass at 10:00A.M., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima, 1950 W. Irvington Place. Burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
