Obituary of Garrett LeRoy Johnson

Garrett (Gary) Johnson 72, of Tucson passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Jennifer Johnson Surles of Dallas, Texas and Michael Johnson of Seattle, Washington; one granddaughter and one great-grandson. Garrett was born in Yakima, Washington March 13, 1939 to Elmer LeRoy and Azalea (Loomis) Johnson. After high school in Grants Pass, Oregon Gary attended Seattle Community College with certification in journeyman welding and A & P mechanic. His aviation career as mechanic and inspector included The Boeing Company's 747 aircraft in Everett, Washington, MA-1 Paymaster Agriculture Aircraft in Hawaii, Piper Aircraft Santa Maria, California and Evergreen Air Center in Marana. His work required extensive travel throughout the U.S. and around the world. An active retiree, Garrett spent many summers R\ring with Susan and enjoying family and friends. A member of Rincon Lions Club, an avid reader, and a loyal fan of U of A Wildcats and Diamondbacks. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Reception follows at Rincon Country Mobile Home Park at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
