Obituary of Eleanor Abate

Eleanor Abate 1914 â€" 2012 Eleanor Abate passed away February 8, 2012. Preceded in death by her husband, she now joins him to eternal life. She is survived by her sons Angelo (Gerri) Abate, and Michael Abate; one daughter Mary M. “Maggi” (Frank) Ciaramitaro; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was born Leonora Palazzolo on July 17, 1914 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the third oldest of nine siblings. Three brothers and five sisters have preceded her. Her parents both immigrated from Sicily. She was married to her husband in 1932 in Detroit, MI and they were together for 59-1/2 years. They made their permanent home here in Tucson in 1976. They were truly a loving and devoted couple. She was also a loving mom to her children and was loved and respected by many friends and family. She will truly be missed. Private services will be held.
