Obituary of Eileen Marie Markley

Eileen Marie Markley passed away in Tucson, AZ on March 10, 2022, at the age of 71. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and the daughter of Doris J. Plog and Henry J. Plog. Eileen has five siblings; Barbara and husband Michael, Henry and wife Angie, Patty, Terry and wife Trish, and her sister Anne who was waiting in the clouds to greet her. Eileen leaves behind her three children, Sheri Markley, William Roy Markley II and wife Elida, Angela Kidder and husband Ken Jr. As well as her nine grandsons: Frank and wife Tabitha, Tyson and wife Franki, Thomas, Bill III, Carson, Nathan V., Caleb, Nathan K., and Cameron. Her two granddaughters, Danika and Makayla, and her great grandson Frankie. Eileen had many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Her love for her family will live on.

Eileen displayed a life of love with a caring heart. She graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School, class of 69’.  June 7, 1969 she married her childhood sweetheart, Bill Markley,  who was one of her neighbors and they started a forever family. They have now been reunited in paradise. She later went on to pursue her Associates of Nursing and with compassion and dedication cared for her mother for many years. Eileen had many natural talents, of which her biggest was her beautiful folky voice, and playing her acoustic guitar. She enjoyed giving her time and talent to her local parish, Our Mother of Sorrows, where she would play guitar and sing for Mass, as well as weddings and for funerals. She served faithfully for years until she no longer could. We know she is singing and playing her guitar in the presence of her Savior.

Eileen also raced cars with her husband Bill, she was in the Powder Puff division at the Speedway Race Track. She loved to fly kites, window art paint, and of course, spend time with her family. Eileen made many friends along her journey and helped mentor those around her, in their faith. There were no strangers and everyone who met her instantly had a friend. She had no problem praying for anyone who was in need and had such a giving heart to take care of others. She displayed her love for her friends and family by praying for them. We will miss our prayer warrior and how she covered us all.

She will be truly missed but her legacy of faith and love will live on.
