Grandpa had a heart of gold. He loved his family dearly and always wanted the best for everyone. We used to write letters back and forth all time and endless phone conversations. Grandpa's first line in a letter or first sentence would be Jen are you walking with Jesus? Always making sure his great grandchildren were too. Grandpa had true unconditional love and taught me so much even if it was over snail mail, phone, or email. I'll always cherish our conversations that are priceless to me. I loved hearing him talk about his values and ethics of hard work. We would always say to be so far apart we have so much in common. I never could afford to go see him with having children etc but felt just as close as if I were there with him. I could feel his prayers everyday and he was one person for sure I knew was always praying for me. Family was so important to him whether we all got along or not. He never discluded or made anyone feel left out. You always felt like a big part of his life. I will always carry his wise true words with me thru the rest of my life til I meet him on the other side. It'll be shouting time in Heaven. Words could never express how much love Grandpa showed me or I felt for him. At times we would joke but serious at the same time the bond we shared I should of lived closer to him than in S.C. and if I hadn't of had my own family that's exactly where I would have been. To Mom, Dinky, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Grady I love all of you dearly and that's what Grandpa taught me to love all just like Jesus loves us. Funeral was amazing today. Aunt Debbie your words were heartfelt and so much meaning. Thank you for sharing your letter. It couldn't have been said any better. Just know I pray for my family always whether we get to see each other or even have a conversation. You all will always mean alot because you are my family and I know what unconditional love is even if it hurts over and over again or even if it's happy. If I've done half the job Grandpa did in raising my kids and now with my grandkids I will be satisfied because Grandpa had some big shoes to fill. Lots of love, Jennifer.

My Uncle Dick and I share the gift of writing, I have over the years read many of his stories as he has read many of mine. I moved to Az for about 3 yrs and had several visits with him and Aunt Alice, His older brother was my father, while in Az I reminisced as we talked about them growing up in the grasslands of Oklahoma. He would tell stories from his point of view, and I would tell what was told by my Daddy(Herb, his older brother). Many short stories came from those visits, it also filled in some gaps I had about my Daddy growing up. As was my father, Uncle Dick was a master tale spinner. He could take you to time of the story and make you feel like you were living it also. Rest Well Uncle Dick, I cherish the times we spent together, give Aunt Alice a big hug from me.

Ricard Morin (my Uncle Dick) was an older brother to my mom, Carol Miller and her twin sister, Myrle Chapman. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him, as our families always lived different places, but I did feel like I knew him through his weekly writings of stories about family and teachings from Scripture or heartfelt exhortations to us all. His stories touched me, telling me things I never knew about my mom or grandparents or aunts and uncles- things of humor and comfort, making me appreciate my roots and the legacy left behind. He was a man of faith and family and my prayers are with them in these days as they move forward without him in their midst. Thanks to the LORD for Uncle Dick and his life and words and legacy.

Even though Dick was only part of our congregation for little more than a year, he was a blessing. He brought in many cards for our card ministry, he shared the stories and devotions he had written and he had a ready smile. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences to his family.
