Obituary of Susanne Gottstein

Susanne Gottstein, 48, of Sahuarita, AZ, passed away on December 17, 2022.
Born April 8, 1974 in Logan, UT to Don Kenneth Walston and Catherine (Bair) Walston.
Susanne is survived by her parents, Ken and Cathy Walston, Tucson, AZ; her husband, Adam Gottstein, and son, Hunter Gottstein, Sahuarita; brother John Walston, his wife, Christine (Myers) Walston and their 3 children, Vail, AZ; sister Marianne (Walston) Boydell, her husband, Craig Boydell, Vail, AZ, and their 4 children; and her brother, Michael Walston, and his wife, Katherine (Keippel) Walston, and their 3 children, Tucson, AZ.
Born in Utah, Susanne moved to Tucson with her family at age seven. After graduating from high school, she served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Paraguay, learning Spanish and some of the native language in order to reach out to the people of that country. She was married to Adam Gottstein March 10, 2001, in the Mesa Arizona temple, and blessed to welcome Hunter to her family a year and a half later.
A dedicated wife and mother, Susanne enjoyed researching family history, and worked with Hunter through his schooling and his work in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, helping him drive to earn his Eagle rank. She also loved to paint and after leaving many painted rocks around town, she had found great enjoyment in doing watercolor paintings. 
Susanne served in different roles in her church, including president of the women’s organization for the local congregation, working with the young children, working with the Cub Scouts overall, and teaching in various Sunday School classes. Most recently she has served both in the Tucson Arizona temple as well as a seminary coordinator and teacher, both of which brought her great joy, and both of which she was hoping and looking forward to returning to when given the chance.
Susanne was a friend to many. She would reach out to those in need and help however she could. As friends and family have gone through major life events, they have found a lifelong friend and support in Susanne.
