Obituary of Gerald Lee Dickey

Gerald Lee Dickey, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Feburary 11, 2024 at the age of 87.  

He was born on August 18, 1936 in Madison County, Indiana, the second of four boys to Clarence and Helen Dickey.  He leaves behind his wife, Shirley Dickey and daughter, Rhonda.  He has six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  He had two daughters, Terri and Susan, who preceded him in death. 

He was in the US Navy from May, 1954 to September, 1957. After leaving the military, he lived in Elkhart, Indiana, where he worked in a musical instrument factory, making flutes and piccolos for over twenty years.  That business took him from Elkhart to Nogales, Arizona, Nogales, Mexico, Oakland, California, then back to Tucson.  In Tucson, he worked as a crossing guard for TUSD before retirement.  

Gerald was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and also a member of the Elks Club, where he served as Exalted Ruler in Nogales, Arizona, for several years.  

A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1826 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday, March 16, 2924 at 10:30 am.
