Ronald DeWarf, Sr.

Obituary of Ronald Allen DeWarf, Sr.

He served his country, he served his people, and he served his family…

Ronald De Warf, Sr. lived a full life of 93 years and passed through the gates of heaven Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Born in 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, he saw and lived through so many things in life. From the Great Depression, WWII, The Apollo Moon Landing, the Halle-Bopp Comet streaking across the sky… among many other historic events. He was a machinist who owned and operated Precision Products with his true love affair wife Martha De Warf, and with occasion all of his kids. He was a gunsmith and avid target shooter, who at one time had qualified for the Olympic tryouts but declined. His love of learning never ceased! He was an intelligent man, and always told everyone he knew to keep their eyes and ears open because there are always things to learn. He loved photography, astronomy, history, classic movies, music (he loved to play classic guitar and had a beautiful voice), animals, and sometimes people (LOL). Through his knowledge and personality he taught so many people things that truly expanded their lives! He instilled in everyone that he touched the drive to move forward and be the best person that they could be. He made us all believe there was nothing he couldn’t do, and nothing that WE couldn’t do if we just put our best effort into it.

His life partner and wife of over 50 years, Martha De Warf, of whom they had a true love affair and he would gladly tell anyone who would hear of the romance they had. Winking at his wife at the kitchen table, batting his pretty bright eyes at her, and loving and providing for her all the way to the end of her life on May 18, 2020.

When asked how many children he had, they would plainly tell people they didn’t raise children, they raised ADULTS. He and Martha raised three adults. Allen De Warf, Laurence “Larry” De Warf, and Ronda De Warf Adams. All three children have gone on to enhance others with the same talent Ron provided them with. Along with their children, Ron and Martha were blessed with four wonderful grandchildren through Allen and Larry. Linda and Samantha being the wonderful daughters of Allen and Irene; and Melanie and Steven being the wonderful children of Larry and Laurie. They also were blessed with one great-granddaughter, Heidi, through Samantha and Scott.

Today we celebrate the memory of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather…. the man who pushed and shoved his knowledge and love on us and all the many other people he could.

A Remembrance in honor of both Ronald and Martha will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 starting at 11:00 am.
