Obituary of Marylou Marksch

Mary Lou (Schooley) Marksch, 78, of Tucson, AZ died peacefully on April 10, 2024 with family at her side. She had battled vascular dementia in the last year. Born and raised in Champaign, IL and summers in Stingray Point, Deltaville, VA. Mary Lou graduated from Champaign High School and Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school in Virginia before following her Army husband to Arizona where they lived for nearly fifty years in Tucson, she was a beloved teacher at Lyons and Booth Fickett public schools. Mary Lou was also the primary caregiver for her husband, Chuck--expecially the last then years.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Marksch, her parents Frank E. Schooley and Eleanor Brown Schooley as well as four of her six siblings, Frank Jr, Fred, Jane and Jean Brown. and her beloved service dog, Pinky. She is survived by son, Anthony Marksch; daughter, Rebecca Anderson, and two grandsons; her sister, Betsy Schooley; many cousins, more than forty nieces, nephews and the next generation of their children. She was surrounded in love by friends: Linda, Kat, Alita, Sandy, Vernita, Marcia, and B. Buck.

In the last months of her life, the wonderful staff at Ranch Estates of Tucson Memory Care card for Mary Lou, many thanks to that team.
